It is an agency under the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic and carries executive and regulatory control functions on behalf of the state. It enforces the Air Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on the airports and the country’s air traffic. Previously the aviation regulation body was the Department of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic. Now the Civil Aviation Agency of Kyrgyz Republic is the National Aviation Agency of Kyrgyzstan.
