The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) is the National Aviation Authority. It comes under the Ministry of Communications and Works. The agency was founded in 1955 and regulated the aviation industry in Cyprus. It manages the Air Traffic Services of Nicosia Flight Information Region and the control towers at Larnaca and Paphos airports. It is also responsible for developing and operating the country’s airports and air transport services. The three main activities of the Department are Safety and Security Regulation and the Implementation of European Law on air transport.
