General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is the wing under the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services responsible for managing the civil air traffic in Saudi Arabia. It was established in 1934 as the National Aviation Agency of Saudi Arabia to oversee its civil aviation industry. It regulates air transport services and implements air safety standards. GACA also coordinates with the International Civil Aviation Organization. The headquarters of the General Authority of Civil Aviation is in Riyadh. Presidency of Civil Aviation (PCA) was previously the aviation regulatory body, but it was split into a city department, the GACA, and the Royal Saudi Air Force.
