Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority is the National Aviation Authority. JCAA was established by the Civil Aviation (Amendment) Act 1995. The Authority became operational on May 6, 1996. Formerly it was known as the Civil Aviation Department. The National Aviation Authority Of Jamaica has three essential divisions- Flight Safety Division, Air Navigation Services Division, and Economic Regulation Division. Between these three divisions, they manage everything from the development and expansion of air transport, standard inspection procedures, licensing flight crew, aircraft maintenance engineers, and air traffic controllers, the Air Traffic Services (ATS) Training, Quality Assurance, Aeronautical Meteorology, Aeronautical Telecommunications, and Aeronautical Search & Rescue.
